Bayern-Park newsletter

The Bayern-Park derives its origin from animals as at first the park’s area was just a farm with husbandry, run by the Hochholzer Family. >>

The lynx, the animal of the year 2011, can hardly be seen in the wild anymore nowadays. A little bit hidden though, one pair has been living in the park for some 15 years now. >>

When the park was founded 20 years ago, a herd of sika deer moved to the area in Reisbach. You can find them on a large meadow in the rear part of the park. >>

A herd of 5 midget ponies lives directly above the Twinbob toboggan run and together with them an old miniature donkey. >>

The Cameroon sheep which originally come from West Africa live in direct neighbourhood to the pygmy goats and not only the newborn sheep are playful and curious. >>

Eight pygmy goats, who live in a quiet surrounding beneath the branches of the conifer forest, make for a good mood among the little as well as the grown up visitors. >>

The Bayern-Park’s chamois live reclusively on a clearing in the dark forest. The medium size, goat-like hoofed animals have their enclosure adjacent to the lynx and the sheep. >>

Five ibexes attract both the small as well as the adult visitors’ attention at the entrance to the animal round circular path, directly next to the gondolas on their passage through the castle’s grotto. >>

It all began with them: the red and the fallow deer were originally not planned to be more than a mere hobby. However, as evermore animal loving families came by with their children, the hobby turned into the Vilstaler Deer Park … >>

Between the Olymp of the Animals and the Twinbob Toboggan Run, the exuberant magots live in a spacious enclosure with diverse opportunities to rest and to play. >>

The timid St. Hubertus deer with their white coat proudly show themselves a little bit off the turmoil in the park and enjoy the tranquility of the adjacent forest. >>
